(Launch in 100 US & Canadian Cities) Retailer turned Refugee turned Retailer
Retailer turned Refugee turned Retailer
In early 1900's my great grandfather (Bhoja Ram) ran one of the biggest retailers in India. At that time, India and Pakistan were still one country under the British rule. After independence India and Pakistan were partitioned, and he ended up on the wrong side of the border. In the weeks that followed, over a million people were slaughtered. He managed to survive when the Government of India accepted him as a refugee.
Before all of this mayhem, he had a dream of running a retailer in 100 cities. Then he lost everything. Today, 100 years later, we go full steam on his dream! :)
Sources: I found two sources of his philanthropic work. He created an inn (Sarai Bhoja Ram) where people from any religion could find refugee free of cost.
